RIVERS DEBUTS EARNS 1st COLLEGIATE WIN


HUNTER RIVERS made his collegiate debut pitching three scoreless innnings, striking out three, while not allowing a batter to reach base, to earn his first collegiate victory in Jacksonville's 17-3 victory over Kinnesaw State.
The Jacksonville Gamecock Report on Rivers is as follows: Has an electric arm that should help the staff…has an extremely bright future with team…is expected to big a contributor on the mound this year.HIGH SCHOOL: Played at West Morgan High School for Todd Stephens…was selected to play in the East-West Åll-Star game…also lettered in basketball and football.
PERSONAL: Full name is Hunter Jackson Rivers…son of Kevin and Sherry Rivers…has one older sister, Renee, who played softball at Snead, and one younger sister, Whitney…lists the Boston Red Sox as his favorite Major League Baseball team and Derek Jeter as his favorite player…majoring in Economics at JSU.

NAVS Awarded 2011 NECBL ALL STAR GAME






Lynn, MA: New England Collegiate Baseball League Commissioner Mario Tiani today announded that the 2011 NECBL All Star Game has been awarded to the North Shore Navigators & Fraser Field in Lynn, Massachusetts.

The NECBL is a premier summer collegiate baseball league sponsored in part by Major League Baseball. The league hosts top Major League draft prospects each summer including 2009 #1 Overall Draft Pick of the Washington Nationals Steven Strasbourg.

Navigators' General Manager Peter Delani said "Hosting the 2011 All Star Game will be a major highlight for the Navigators and the City of Lynn. We are excited to bring over 60 future potential Major League baseball players to Fraser Field, and look forward to hosting the many Major League Baseball representatives that typically attend the NECBL All Star Game.
